Continued: A real time comparison of FlipKart.com, Indiaplaza.in and Rediff Books...
Delayed post!
8th May 2010:
I received an email from Indiaplaza.in informing me that one of the books I ordered (The Future just happened) is out of stock and that they are refunding my money (as expected!).
13th May 2010:
Credit had already been posted on my card account by Indiaplaza.in. So, they made sure they got everything covered.
That closes the experience. And here are the rankings:
1. Flipkart: On-time delivery, great packaging
2. Rediff: Slightly delayed deliver, decent packaging
3. Indiaplaza: Bungled one part of the order but did the refund. Needed to be sent an email though.
Overall: I feel there is a thin-line between the three competitors. It is really customer-delight and sticking to timelines that will make the difference. Apart from this, being the lowest priced in the market helps as well. I would happily take slower delivery timelines and unimpressive packing as long as I get a great discount and am informed of the exact timeline. But that's just me! Hope this helps.
Lets see what my next topic is going to be...

Continued: A real time comparison of FlipKart.com, Indiaplaza.in and Rediff Books...
May 3rd 2010:
Finally received the second book from Rediff. 10 working days (and 2 weekends) after I first ordered it! This against a promised delivery time of 7 working days. Bad! Saving grace though was that they responded to the query lodged with them asking for an explanation for the delay. I received an email within 48 hrs of lodging a complaint.
Have not received the pending book from Indiaplaza.in nor have I got a response to the query I lodged with them!! Has not kept to timelines nor is there a responsive customer service department. They should avoid taking orders for books that they do not have in stock as this it what is smells like.
Will keep you all updated! :)
